Perhaps we could just call it, Monday Night with Mike and Mike and Mike. Or maybe not. Either way, Monday night just became fun again, even if it is for only one game. Mike Ditka, our favorite Chicago Bear, jumps into the booth to join Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic as an analyst for Monday Night Football as they cap off the opening weekend of the 2007 regular season. Kudos to ESPN for finally putting together an amusing and, in my opinion, intelligently funny announcing team for the beloved Monday night broadcast. Greenberg, Golic, and Ditka help kick off the 2007 season of MNF as part of a double header scheduled for September 10th. Bonnie Bernstein will be on the sidelines as the trio of Mikes' call the game when Arizona takes on San Francisco. Personally, I don't care who is playing, I just want to hear the banter in the booth. I know there are quite a few people who really don't care for Monday night's regular announcing team, but I will take Jaworski over Thiesman any day of the week, and as for Tony Kornheiser...well, I guess you can say he's better than Dennis Miller, but that's still not saying much. Despite the fact that Greenberg has allegedly been labeled a "bed-wetting mama's boy" by Ditka, I'm sure there will be no animosity between the two come game time. Besides, it was only a joke, right?
As for those of you who may think I am serious about the whole bed-wetting incident...relax, it was only a funny ESPN commercial and as far as I know there is absolutely no truth to the comment made by Coach Ditka. I think...
