CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
For the second time in three seasons, Jay Cutler is sidelined during Packer 7 days. But this time with the most significant pain he’s experienced.
“I feel better, ” Cutler said Wednesday. “It’s tough watching, that’s the hardest part. But I’m trying to assist Josh (McCown) out as much as I can, and when I get back I return. ”
Cutler valued the optimistic comments from Brandon Marshall who believes the QB will be ready to go against Detroit a week through Sunday. Cutler’s optimistic too. The particular goal is to return sooner than the initial four week timeline (Nov. 24 in St . Louis).
“I’ll push as much as we can, but that’s up to the trainers and the physicians. When they say go, I’ll proceed, ” Cutler said.
“We don’t want to lose Jay, but we’re glad we have Josh, ” coach Marc Trestman said.
The Bears carry on and heap praise on their back up QB. McCown has experience and wouldn’t be in his 11th season if he didn’t know how to play in this league. They have chemistry with your pet. He’s respected and he’s capable of do good things on the field. He or she led the Bears on 4 scoring drives in Washington, plus gave them a 4th one fourth lead. The defense is another story for another day.
Martellus Bennett, never short on confidence, offered some analysis from the two quarterbacks.
“It’s like eating Cheerios and Corn Flakes. Taste about the same, both complete the job but you have to add sugar in order to both, and we are the sugar, ” Bennett said.
The particular Bears do believe that. The talent around McCown makes his work easier, specifically the offensive range.
Both Cutler plus Trestman pointed to their success becoming the starting point. The Bears have allowed just 11 sacks to the season – tied for second fewest in the league. When could be the last time the Bears o-line was in a sentence like that? They have been impressive and that’s where success with regard to McCown starts too.
Green Bay can shake some misconception defensively to rattle a quarterback, which is a bit concerning… well a great deal concerning – especially for the rookies getting their first dose from the rivalry. But nothing has been too big on their behalf yet… no reason for Lambeau on a Monday night to be that much different… right?
