Week 7: Nate Albaugh of Champaign Central High School named Bears High School Coach of the Week

Nate Albaugh of Champaign Central High School in Champaign, IL was named the Chicago Bears High School “Coach of the Week” for Week seven.

Albaugh led the particular Maroons to a 39-14 win over formerly state-ranked Danville on Friday, October 11.

Central scored on six of its seven possessions, and Albaugh called various unconventional plays to help his team gain momentum early. He will furthermore receive a framed certificate and attend a Bears practice and “chalk-talk” at Halas Hall with his other 2013 “Coach of the Week” honorees.

The Chicago Bears “Coach of the Week” program is in its 18th season. The program respects outstanding Illinois high school coaches which develop players’ football skills plus knowledge, character, leadership, discipline plus teamwork abilities. Other criteria considered include unique coaching methodology, college and community support, volunteerism plus, most importantly, contributions to players’ long-term success on and off the field.

The program will run meant for nine weeks from September two through October 28. Deserving senior high school coaches are nominated by a solar panel of local prep authorities as well as the winning “Coach of the Week” will be selected each week. The Chicago Bears will make a $1, 500 contribution to the football program at each winning coach’s school.

Since the program’s inception, the Bears have donated over $220, 000 to Illinois high schools in support of their football programs. The Chi town Bears “Coach of the Week” plan is brought to you by FOX 32 Chicago and the Illinois Army National Guard.

Besides the “Coach of the Week” winners being honored at the Bears vs . Packers game on December 29, many eight IHSA football state champion teams will be recognized at this online game. The Chicago Bears, in partnership with the particular Illinois High School Association and the The state of illinois Army National Guard, will ask representatives from each team to the game, and a special recognition of the state titles will take place during halftime.
